James M. Richardson, 91, died Thursday afternoon, following a long illness. He was a prominent retired Simpson county farmer, a member of the Baptist church, and was very active in community and civic affairs before illness forced his retirement.

Funeral services were held from Sharon church, near Magee, on Saturday morning with Rev. G. O. Parker, Rev. C. O. Estes, Rev Cortes Sellers, and Rev. J. D. Smith officiating. Interment was in the Sharon cemetery with Mlms Mitchell in charge of arrangements.

Survivors Mrs. E. J. Hough, Mt Olive; Mrs. Ernest Flynt, , Pascagoula; Mrs. Fannie Brownlee, Paradise, CaL; Mrs. E. T. McAlpin. Magee: Mrs. Terry Counsel, Memphis, Mrs. Annie Fortenberry, Osyka; Mrs. Rosa B. Coleman, Magee. Six sons, S. L. Richardson, Poplarville; S. S. Richardson, Mt. Olive; W. M. Richardson, Paradise, Cal: Rev. J. C. Richardson, Thomasville, Ga.; T. F. Richardson, New Haven, Conn.; C. S. Richardson, Jackson; 47 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren, and. two great-great grandchildren.

Active pall bearers were grandsons of the deceased, James McRay Richardson, Cortez S. Richardson, Thomas McAlpin, John Bill Richardson, Harold Hough. Donald Hough, Clifford Hough and Deward Hough.

Honorary pall bearers were Prof. Kiley Sullivan, Dr. C. A. Kennedy. Rev. Zollie McAlpin. Otha Ware. Jeff Ware, Wade Kennedy, Julius Wells, C. N. McAlpin, D. M. Yelverton, R. L. Everett, Johnnie Mangum, T. J. Amason, Roscoe Yelverton and Jim Wallace.
