Schwoerer, Gregor(May 8, 1848-June 29, 1916 -husband of Katherine Fessler(1850-1912) - married May 31, 1870 at St. Gregory Catholic Church in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton - son of George Schwoerer and Maria Willman(George was barn April 17, 1790 in Hammerereisenbach, Baden and he died there on Nov. 13, 1852 - George's parents were Franz Josef Schwoerer and Theresa Bar- Franz Josef was barn Oct. 10, 1753 in Schollach, Baden and he died Jan 29, 1838 - his wife Theresa Bar died on Feb 11, 1796 - Hammerereisenbach/Urah and Schallach are towday incorporated in the town jurisdiction of Vohrenbach, which is very close to Freiburg, Baden) -born Hammerereisenbach, Baden - immigrated to the US on the boat Zurich departing from the Port of Havre, France, arriving at the Port of New York on July 23, 1855 in company of his widowed mother Maria Willmann Schwoerer, his older sister Genofeva, and his two unmarried aunts, Anastasia Willmann and Johanna Willmann- farmer and carpenter- for the brief period of Oct. 7, 1868 to Feb 12, 1869 owned the 40 acres of the NW1/4 of the SW1/4 of Section 34, Town of Eaton- purchased this land from his brother-in-law Charles Goetz - on May 19, 1870, just weeks before his marriage on May 31, 1870, Gregor purchased the 40 acre farm at 9104 County A in Section 36, Town of Eaton - on Dec. 29, 1881 added the 40 acres of the SW1/4 of the NW1/4 of Section 32, Town of Liberty to this farm - on April 1, 1887 added the 40 acres of the NW1/4 of the SW1/4 of Section 31, Town of Liberty - on Oct. 28, 1887 of Section 36, Town of Eaton to this farm - on Jan 28, 1907 sold this 160 acre farm centered at 9104 County Road A in Section 36, Town of Eaton to his son Anton Schwoerer - had a huge thrashing rig that he operated for other farmers to harvest their crop - in 1905 retired from the farm and moved to St. Nazianz - on Jan 26, 1905 purchased the vacant lot at 407 South Fourth Avenue in St. Nazianz and had a house built by his son Anton - Gregor and his wife Katherine then lived here until their deaths - died from "prostatectomy - heart failure") - buried at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton (buried in Section 3, Row 1, Lot 28 - stone)(marriage record Manitowoc 4-41)(death record Manitowoc 14-141)
