Mrs. Edward Berrens, 54, of this city passed away Tuesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Forstner, here. She had been ill for the past two years.

The deceased was born July 30, 1890, in Stockbridge, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Scherer. On Sept. 22, 1914, she married Edward Berrens at St. Mary’s church, Stockbridge. Following their marriage they resided in Chilton.

Mrs. Berrens was a member of the Christian Mothers’ society of St. Augustine’s church here and also a member of the G.U.G. Germania society.

Survivors are her husband; 6 sons and 2 daughters. They are Pfc. Edward Berrens, Little Rock, Ark.; Pfc. Eugene of Tampa, Fla.; Pfc. Victor, somewhere in the South Pacific area; Pvt. Robert, Camp McCoy, Wis.; Arthur and Claude at home; Mrs. William Forstner of this city, and Mrs. James Nemecek, Appleton. Two brothers, Henry and William Scherer, Menasha; 3 sisters, Mrs. Joseph Berrens, Appleton; Mrs. John Kerstin, Kaukauna, and Mrs. John Abeley, Gillman, and 4 grandchildren. One sister, Mrs. Leonard Dorn preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held Friday morning at the Erbe-Hoffmann Funeral Home here and at St. Augustine’s church, the Rev. John J. Murphy officiating. Burial will be made in the parish cemetery.
