GEORGE J. SEUSS

GEORGE J. SEUSS, 84, of 806 S. 31st St., died at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph's Hospital after a four month illness. Employed for 50 years by the Ellsworth Store, he had later worked in the Wyman's Department Store drapery department.

Born Feb. 6, 1885, in Jefferson, Wisconsin, he spent most of his life in the South Bend area. He married Minnie L. Erhardt of South Bend on May 5, 1904. She died in 1966. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Ruth Jacobson and Mrs. Esther Darr, both of South Bend, Mrs. Marian Rowley of Fort Wayne, and Mrs. Margaret Oliver of Louisville, Kentucky; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Martin M. of South Bend and John M. of San Diego.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday. Rev. Walter M. Rehberg, pastor of the Zion United Church of Christ, of which Seuss was a member, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.
