Oscar T. Nelson, 78, of 1021 Division Street, Manitowoc, died Tuesday, December 2, 1986 at Bellin Hospital, Green Bay.

Funeral services will be 11 am Friday at Reinbold-Pfeffer Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Rev. John H. Rasmussen will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.

Mr. Nelson was born January 27, 1908 at Cornell, Wisconsin, son of the late Paul and Ida Gullickson Nelson. He moved with his family to Manitowoc in 1916 and was educated here in Manitowoc schools. He married Cynthia A. Braasch on June 22, 1927. Mr. Nelson was employed at Manitowoc Shipbuilding for many years, retiring in 1983. Mr. Nelson enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc and the Manitowoc County Fish and Game Association.

Survivors include his wife, Cynthia; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Elaine Nelson of Manitowoc; a daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Robert Stephani of Manitowoc; a brother, Clarence Nelson of Manitowoc; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Jacobs of Durham, North Carolina and Mrs. Gerhardt (Agnes) Pape of Juneau, Wisconsin; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Esther Houghton and Florence Breuer.

There will be no Thursday evening visitation. Memorials would be appreciated to St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church.
