Ambrose J. Grenzer, age 83, of 1030 Steenport Ln., Chilton, died on Monday, Nov. 30, 1998 at the Calumet Medical Center in Chilton.
He was born on Feb. 10, 1915 in the town of Stockbridge, son of the late Frank and Anna (Mainz) Grenzer. He married Marcella Satzer on May 25, 1948 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Chilton. They celebrated their golden wedding in May of 1998.
He had served in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1945 during World War II.
He had worked for the Arps Corporation in New Holstein for 37 years until retiring in 1982. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Chilton, V.F.W. Post 3153 of Chilton, the Chilton Eagles Club 1288 and the Perpetual Adoration Chapel.
Survivors include his wife, Marcella; four children, Michael (Beverly) Grenzer of Chilton, Susan Grenzer and special friend Al Ariall of Panatine, IL, June (Mike) Haig of Oshkosh and Patricia (Marvin Jr.) Ecker of Quinney; four grandchildren, Nicholas and Ann Grenzer of Chilton, Jered & Brittany Ecker of Quinney; three sisters, Hattie Kampfer of Chilton, Veronica Breckheimer of Chilton, Mary Lodes of Manitowoc; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth Grenzer of Chilton, Mary (John) Schmidlkofer of Chilton, sister Mary Lisa Satzer of Campbellsport, Teresa Manecke of Chilton, Ervin Satzer of Milltown, Montanna, Rosie Satzer of Chilton, Mildred Satzer of Chilton; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Henry "Cookie" Grenzer, Gregory Grenzer, John Grenzer; and a sister, Celia Diedrich.
Funeral services will be at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1998 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Chilton with the Rev. Gary New S.D.S. officiating. Military rites by V.F.W. Post 3153 will follow the services at the church. Following cremation, burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the church in Chilton from 2 p.m. on Wednesday until the time of services. A prayer service by the Chilton Eagles Club will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Wieting Funeral Home in Chilton is assisting the family.
