Otto F. Altergott, age 79, of 3052 Cottage Lane, town of Two Rivers, died Sunday afternoon July 29, 2001, with his family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, 2001 at Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church, Two Rivers, with the Rev. Louis Sievert officiating. Entombment to follow at Knollwood Mausoleum, town of Kossuth.
Otto was born April 6, 1922 in Manitowoc, the son of the late Alexander and Emily (Eunich) Altergott. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II. Otto married the former Joyce Spendlove on Oct. 13, v1945 in Morgan, Utah. She preceded him in death on May 21, 2001. Otto was a tool and die maker and was employed at various companies during his career, retiring from the Tinsel Factory. Otto was a member of Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church, Two Rivers.
Otto is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; David and Deborah Altergott, Two Rivers; and Richard and Barbara Altergott, Two Rivers; eight grandchildren; Tracy Maslora and her husband Mike; Bradley, Brian, Caressa, Nathan, Jacob, Dean and Jason; and one great-granddaughter: Olivia. He is further survived by a special friend Gladys Seibel, Manitowoc, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
He was preceded in death by one son, Clifford; one great-granddaughter, Anna; two sisters: Adelia and Emily; and an infant brother, Alex.
The family will greet relatives and friends at Klein & Stangel Funeral Home from 5 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2001. visitation will continue at the church on Thursday, Aug. 2, 2001 from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.
