WELDON B. CARTER
January 1, 1916 ~ December 27, 1991

Funeral services for long-time Redland resident Weldon B. Carter will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Redland United Methodist Church, Rev. Duane Baker, officiating.

He died Friday in McCuistion Medical Center in Paris, Texas, at the age of 75.

An active member of the Redland Methodist Church, he was a mason and Scout Leader. He was a veteran of World War II and was a retired rural mail carrier and carpenter. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Murray, Cecil, Forrest and Maurice Carter.

In 1941, he married Naomi Citty.

Burial will be in Redland Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Naomi, of Idabel; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Norma Carter of Redland and Floyd and Rita Carter of Redland.

Also one daughter, Linda McCoy, Idabel; two brothers, Raymond Carter of Broken Bow and Wilburn Carter of Mead; two sisters, Vernie Bell, Holly Creek and Genova Loyd, DeQueen, Ark; one grandson, Todd McCoy of Idabel; five granddaughters, Dana Hobbs, Idabel, Pamela Johnson and Christi Cox, DeRidder, La., Gina Phillips, Garvin and Lori Carter, Redland.

Nine great grandchildren also survive.

Pallbearers will be Paul Citty, Louis Nichols, Harold McBrayer, Russell Farley, Charles Whittington and C. B. Bozarth.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Redland United Methodist Church.
