Clyde P. Ness, Sr. RED LION Clyde P. Ness, Sr., 73, residing with Coleen and Clyde, Jr. in Red Lion, died Thursday, July 20, 2006 at York Hospital. Mr. Ness was born October 13, 1932, in Felton, a son of the late Howard L. and Anna L. (Kilgore) Ness. He was employed for several years as a mason tender but he retired in 1995 as a bar tender of the Tourist Inn, Hellam. As a child, Clyde learned about guns from his father and enjoyed hunting. He often would sing country western tunes and hymns with his brothers and sisters at family gatherings. In the mornings, he would meet up with his buddies at the Cape Horn McDonalds for breakfast. Clyde also looked forward to spending time with his dog, Sweetie, on the porch in the afternoons. Mr. Ness is survived by seven sons, Clyde, Jr. of Red Lion, Keith Ness of Wrightsville, Dennis Ness of Red Lion, Timothy Ness of Red Lion, Howard Ness, of York, Todd Ness of Hellam, and Rick Ness of Thomasville; three daughters, Donna Fake of Craley, Vicki Leiphart of Hellam, and Melissa Lesher of Wrightsville; 18 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Ada Hersey of York, Ruth Porterfield of Hershey, Katherine Baker of Wrightsville, and Alverta Beck of Lancaster. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ervin Ness, Clarance Ness, and Harold Ness; and two sisters, Alma Kauffman and Helen Ness.
