Mrs. Alfred Ott, lifelong resident here, died at her home July 26, after an illness of several months. She was 56 years old.

Funeral services were at the Ev. & United Brethren church, Forest Junction. The Rev. Kenneth E. Knoespel of Brillion officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Ott was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Hacker, pioneer settlers on what is now the Ross Hacker farm. The family lived there until 1911 when they moved into the village. The deceased was born April 22, 1893 and was married to Mr. Ott May 12, 1915.

She is survived by her husband, four daughters, Mrs. Ralph Huebner, Forest Junction; Mrs. Allen Seefeldt, Brillion and Jane and Shirley Ott, at home; six sons, Roger, Menasha, Route 1; Roland, Appleton; Harold and Leo at home; Wallace, Brillion, and Ray, a private in the army; 13 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. William Knoespel and Mrs. Robert Kloehn, both of Forest Junction; two brothers, Roy Hacker of Menasha; and Robert J. Hacker of Brillion.

Attempts to convey information of Mrs. Ott’s death to her soldier son, Pvt. Ott, in Japan, proved futile up to the time of the funeral. A message forwarded through the Red Cross brought no response, in fact, up to Monday evening.
Pvt. Ott has been in Japan since early in May. He was sent overseas after about four months of basic training in this country.
