SOPHIA BRICK (d. 1945)

Mrs. Carl Brick, 91, nee Sophia Wegner, pioneer county resident, died
Sunday afternoon at the homestead farm on route 4, Manitowoc. Funeral
services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Wattawa, Urbanek
and Schlei funeral home and at 2 o'clock at the First German Evangelical
Lutheran church, the Rev. L.H. Koeninger officiating. Burial will be in
Evergreen cemetery.
Mrs. Brick was born in Germany in 1853 and at the age of 15 accompanied
her parents to Newton, this county. Sixty-nine years ago she was married
to Carl Brick and two years later they located on the present homestead
farm in the town of Manitowoc Rapids. Mr. Brick died nine years ago.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Erwin Wernecke, and a son, Erhardt, both
of route 4, Manitowoc; two sisters, Mrs. Carl Huebner, Sr., of this city,
Mrs. Fred Korthauer of Newton; two brothers, Henry and Ernest Groth, of
this city; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home from noon Tuesday until the
hour of the services.
