Henry A. Eberhardt, age 82, of 2911 County Trunk Highway CR, Manitowoc, Wisconsin,
died Saturday, December 2, 2000 at the Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers,
Wisconsin.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Grace Evangelical Lutheran
Church, with the Rev. Thomas Pankow officiating. Burial will be in Evergreeen
Cemetery, Manitowoc, Wisconsin.
Henry was born October 30, 1918 in the town of Newton, Manitowoc County, son of
the late Ernst and Martha Uttecht Eberhardt.
He attended First German Evangelical Lutheran Grade School. In 1942 he entered the
United States Air Force for three and half years and was honorably discharged after
World War II with the rank of staff sergeant. He was employed as a carpenter with
Kasper Construction Co. Hamman Construction Co. and later Boldt Construction Co.
until he retired in 1981. Henry was an avid gardener and a member of the Manitowoc
Garden Club for the past five years, since 1995.
On June 14, 1947 he married Elda L. Halverson at Gjerpen Lutheran Church, Manitowoc
County. Elda preceded Henry in death on January 20, 1995. He later married Lenora
Schuette on March 23, 1996. Henry was a long-time member of First German Evangelical
Lutheran Church and for the past three years belonged to Grace Evangelical Lutheran
Church, Manitowoc.
Survivors include his wife Lenora; two sons and one daughter-in-law, James Eberhardt,
Manitowoc, and Ronald and Corinna Eberhardt, Manitowoc; one daughter Miss Carol A.
Eberhardt, Manitowoc; two granddaughters, Virginia and Kathleen Eberhardt; three
brothers and two sisters-in-law, Herman Eberhardt, Manitowoc, William and Thelma
Eberhardt, Janesville, Wisconsin and Fred and Beatrice Eberhardt, Manitowoc; two step-
sons, Clarence (Donna) Schuette, Appleton, Wisconsin and Allen (Karen) Schuette,
Chilton, Wisconsin; two step-daughters, Jill Schuette, Sheboygan, Wisconsin and Carol
(William) Elbert, Glendale, Wisconsin; one step daughter-in-law, Jean Schuette,
Manitowoc, Wisconsin; six step-grandchildren, Jamie Schuette, Karen, David and Douglas
Schuette, Cherilyn and Kathy Schuette; one step-great granddaughter, Audrey Nicole
Schuette; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Emma and William Roehl, New London,
Wisconsin, Irene and Merlin Kolb, Madison, Wisconsin and Esther Halverson, Cato,
Wisconsin; nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends surviving.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Elda, nee Halverson, in 1995; a sister and
brother-in-law, Edna Fischer in 1991 and her husband Alvin in 1998; a brother-in-law
Herman Halverson in 1980; and one step-son Earl Schuette.
Friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Monday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.,
then at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church on Tuesday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of
services at 1:30 p.m. The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home is assisting the family with
funeral arrangements.
