RUTH HANSEN (d. 1975)

Mrs. Edgar (Ruth) Hansen, 77, of Park Lawn Home, Manitowoc, formerly of 1802
Wollmer St., Manitowoc, died Sunday morning at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church Chapel,
Manitowoc. The Rev. Eric W. Rauch will officiate with burial in Evergreen
Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Hansen, nee Ruth Vogt, was born July 22, 1898, at Manitowoc, daughter of
the late Henry and Minnie Witt Vogt. She attended a local Manitowoc high school
and was graduated from Manitowoc Business college as a legal secretary. She
worked in the law offices of Kelly and Wyseman and was also employed at Mirro
Aluminum Co., both of Manitowoc, and later at Manitowoc Engineering Co. In
addition to baking at Manitowoc Motor Hotel, she helped her husband in his
jewelery store. She was an active member of First Lutheran Church, serving as
president of the Ladies Aid Society in 1948 and secretary of the Guild in 1963.
She was a member of Order of Eastern Star, serving as worthy matron in 1942,
and was also a past president of American Legion Auxiliary. Mr. Hansen preceded
her in death May 16, 1974.
Survivors include a son; a daughter (Private); and two brothers, Edgar and Henry
Vogt, of Manitowoc; a sister, Mrs. Ben (Mildred) Horning, of Zion, Ill., and seven
grandchildren. A sister and a grandchild preceded her in death.
Friends may call at Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday until
11:30 a.m. Wednesday and then at the church chapel from noon until the time of
service. Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church.
