Henry Ladwig, resident of the county for more than a half century, died at the
family home in the town of Two Rivers Friday afternoon following an illness due
infirmities incident to old age. The funeral held Monday afternoon from the
home with services at St. Johns Lutheran church. Burial was at Evergreen
cemetery in Manitowoc. The Rev. W. G. Hasse officiated at the services. Henry
Ladwig was born in Germany February 22, 1836, eighty years ago and was married
there coming to America a few years afterwards. He was thirty-two when he came
to Manitowoc to make his home and for ten years worked on the farm and rented.
Then he purchased the homestead in the
Town of Two Rivers, near Mishicot, where he has for forty-four years made his
