Sister Nicolata Engeldinger, 86, of Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc, died early Saturday morning, Nov. 28, at the Convent.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Chapel, Holy Family Convent. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celeberated by the Rev. Gerald Walker OFM CAP and burial will be in Holy Family Convent Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Sister Engeldinger, nee Honora Engeldinger, was born May 15, 1895, at Bayfield, Wis., daughter of the late Nicholas and Franklin Augustine Engeldinger. She entered the convent in 1913 and professed her vows in 1917. She attended Holy Family College at Silver Lake. She received her higher education at Oshkosh State Teachers College and Mount Mary College at Los Angeles, Calif. Sister Engeldinger taught elementary grades at Lindsay, Neb.; Petoskey and Escanaba, Mich.; Brillion, Oshkosh, Hilbert, Oneida, Clintonville, Rice Lake, Rhinelander, Appleton, Waukesha, Neopit and Green Bay, Wis. She also taught at Sells Topowa San Minguel in Arizona. She retired to Holy Family Convent in 1969, after 54 years of service to the schools.
Survivors include Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; a brother, John Engeldinger; and two sisters, Mrs. Ray Harlow and Mrs. Stella Bredesen of Manitowoc. A sister, Sister Azarias, also a member of Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, preceded her in death Dec. 30, 1972.
Friends may call at Holy Family Convent from 7:30 o'clock to 9 o'clock this Monday evening where a prayer service will be at 7 o'clock.
