Edwina E. Schmitt, age 67, of 80 S. Dewey St., Kiel, died Sunday evening, September 13,, 1992, at Park Lawn Home, Manitowoc, where she was a resident the past four months.
Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 16, 1992, at St. Peter and St. Paul Catholic Church of Kiel, with the Rev. Thomas Leannah, Pastor, and Rev. Robert Casper officiating, preceded by brief family rites at 9:30 a.m., at Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She is the former Edwina Casper, born December 10, 1924, in rural St. Nazianz, daughter of the late John and Mary Hein Casper. She attended St. Gregory Catholic School, St. Nazianz and Kiel High School.
On November 8, 1941, she married Elmer M. Schmitt, at St. Gregory Catholic Church St. Nazianz. She was employed at Tecumseh Products, New Holstein, for over 25 years retiring in 1981. Her husband Elmer preceded her in death on August 27, 1990.
She was a member of St. Peter and St. Paul Catholic Church, Kiel and the Christian Mothers Society.
She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, James and Sue of Antigo, John and Melody of Kiel, Timothy and Phyllis of Sheboygan, Thomas and Jo Anne of Kiel; three daughters and sons-in-law, Darlene and Ronald Werdeo and Beverly and John Wydner both of Kiel, Janice and Ronald Gilbertson of Kewaunee; 12 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one brother and sister-in-law, John and Lu Ann Casper of St. Nazianz, and two sisters, Dorthy Meiselwitz of Sheboygan, and Katherine Casper of Manitowoc.
She was preceded in death by one grandson, one great-grandson, one brother, and two sisters.
Friends may call at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home in Kiel, from 4-9 p.m. Tuesday, TODAY, and on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until the time of service.
