NICK STEFFEN
Nick Steffen, 77, of Rt. 1, Kiel, retired Town of Liberty farmer, died Friday evening at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, where he had been a patient three days.
Funeral services will be at 8:45 a.m. Monday at Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel, and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Gregory Catholic Church, St. Nazianz. The Rev. Denis Cooney will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Steffen was born Jan. 13, 1881, in Town of Eaton, Manitowoc County, son of the late John and Caroline Fehrenbach Steffen. July 1, 1914, he married Pauline Ebenhoe of St. Nazianz. She died Oct. 10, 1936.
Mr. Steffen was a member of Catholic Knights of Wisconsin, of which he was presiden a number of years, and of the Holy Name Society.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. George Bartel of Rt. 1, Valders, Mrs. Hilbert Schill and Mrs. Robert Jaehnig of Cleveland, and Mrs. Clarence Markowski of Manitowoc; two sons, Leo of Rt. 1, Kiel and Arthur of St.Nazianz; six brothers, Frank of Rt. 1, New Holstein, William, Karl and Richard of Rt. 1, Kiel, Jochim of Rt. 1, Newton, and John of St. Nazianz;19 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
