Lewis V. "Rip" Marchand, age 92, of Newell, Pa., entered into Eternal Rest on Wednesday, April 20, 2005, with his loving family at his side.
He was born July 2, 1912, in Newell, Pa., son of Samuel V. Marchand and Mary (Furlong) Marchand.
He was a member of Newell United Methodist Church and the F. & A. M. Lodge No. 461 in California, Pa.
Lewis was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy Marchand Garofalo, brother, Clyde S. Marchand, sister, Jane Marchand Evans, and his parents.
Surviving are: his wife, Ethel Rogers Marchand; two sons: Dennis Marchand and his wife, Alberta, of Washington, Pa., and David Marchand and his wife, Jean, of Stephens City, Virginia; five grandchildren: Lewis D. Marchand and his wife Marci, Lori Wagner and her husband Jerry, Rebecca Marchand, Sarah Marchand and Melissa Marchand.
Friends will be received in the ELEY-McCRORY FUNERAL HOME INC., 334 Main Street, Fayette City, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Additional visitation will take place on Friday, April 22, in NEWELL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 204 Miller Street, Newell, Pa., from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Funeral Services will be held in the church at 11 a.m. with the Rev. James Pond officiating.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
F. & A. M. Lodge No. 461 will conduct Services in the funeral home this evening at 7:30 p.m.
