Hugo B. Boyer, 79, of Whittier, California passed away on Easter Sunday, April 11, 1971 from cancer.
A funeral high mass was held April 13 at the Church of St. Gregory the Great at Whittier with Father Kenneth Krause, a nephew, officiating. Burial was at Holy Cross Cemetery in Redondo Beach, California.
Hugo Boyer was born April 24, 1892 at Dyersville, Iowa, the eldest son of Bernard and Anna Boyer. From there the family moved to Canby, Minnesota and then to rural Wadena, Minnesota.
He was united in marriage to Mary Ludovissie, january 26, 1915 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Wadena, who preceded him in death on August 3, 1967.
He leaves in passing, twelve children: Mrs. Arnold (Marcella) Brockpahler, New Richmond, Wisconsin; Michael Boyer of Whittier, California; Henry Boyer of LaMirada, California; Mrs. Mary Ann Houston of Torrance, California; Mrs. Newton (Bernice) Pope of Long Beach, California; Mrs. Robert (Cecilia) Sommars of Verndale, Minnesota; Mrs. Angel (Doris) Ramirez of Whittier, California; Mrs. Sam (Donna) Montalbano of La Puente, California; Frank Boyer of Gallup, New Mexico; Mrs. Bob (Lorraine) Maher of Artesia, California; Mrs. Jim (Shirley) Loberg of Anaheim, California and Joanne Boyer of Gardena, California; brothers Joseph of Puyallup, Washington; Gregor of San Bernardino, California; Leo of Cyrus, Minnesota; John of Wadena, Minnesota; Raymond of Bemidji, Minnesota and Edward of Minneapolis; one sister, Mrs. Lloyd (Clara) Larson of St. Cloud, Minnesota; and by 44 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
