Elzie B. Throckmorton, 86 years of Waynesburg, died Monday, October 10, 1960. He had been in failing health two years. Mr. Throckmorton was a son of William Spencer Throckmorton and Amanda Cross Throckmorton, and was born April 29, 1874, at Rogersville. He had spent the early part of his life in Rogersville, but lived for the past few years in the Waynesburg community. He was a member of the Rogersville Methodist Church. Mr. Throckmorton was a retired farmer and for many years was a traveling salesman for several national companies in the Greene County area. Surviving are two daughters, Alice, wife of Ralph Rossie of Cleveland, Ohio, and Wilma, wife of Harry Efaw of Waynesburg R.D. 5; two sons, Raymond and Fred W. Throckmorton, both of Waynesburg; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and three nieces. One brother, Samuel Throckmorton, is deceased.
