William S. Throckmorton, a well known and highly respected citizen, died at his home in West Waynesburg, Tuesday morning, February 14, aged 76 years, of paralysis of the throat. He had been in failing health for the past eighteen months, but had only been seriously ill about a week. Mr. Throckmorton was a son of Samuel and Nancy Reese Throckmorton, deceased, and was born in Franklin Township, November 10, 1851. The greater part of his life was spent in Center Township, where he followed farming and stock raising. He had removed to West Waynesburg about a year ago. In September 1872 Mr. Throckmorton was united in marriage with Miss Amanda Cross, who survives. He was a life log member of the Throckmorton Methodist Episcopal church and was always interested in the affairs of the community. Beside his wife he leaves two sons, Samuel R. of Waynesburg and Elzie Throckmorton, of Waynesburg, R. D., also two brothers, A. B. Throckmorton, of Rogersville, and J. B. Throckmorton, of Waynesburg.
