James B. Throckmorton, aged 82 years, 6 months and 16 days, well-known farmer and stock raiser, died Tuesday morning, September 5, 1939, at 10:00 o'clock, at his home, Waynesburg, R. D. 4.

Mr. Throckmorton was born October 16, 1856, at Center Township, a son of Samuel and Nancy Reese Throckmorton, deceased. He was the last of a family of eight children, and was a member of the Throckmorton Methodist Church. He was married in 1882 to Carrie Iams, who died in 1937. Most of his life was spent in Franklin and Center Townships.

Surviving are four sons, Harland S. Throckmorton, Beaver Falls; Roy I. Throckmorton, Manhattan, Kans,; Guy R. Throckmorton, Waynesburg, R. D. 4; John T. Throckmorton, Sycamore, R. D. 1. Another son, Charles L. Throckmorton is deceased.
