CLARENCE GAINES
Funeral services for Clarence E Gaines, 65, who died June 12, were held in Portland, Oregon. Interment was in Williamette National Cemetery with military honors.
Mr. Gaines was born in Wells, the son of Henry and Lydia Gaines. He attended the Wells Schools and was a businessman in Wells and at Mapleton before going to Portland 25 years ago, where he was owner an operator of a service station.
He was a veteran of World War II
Survivors include his wife, Alice, two sons, Michael of Coquille and David of Portland, three daughters, Jeanelle, Ashland, Oregon, Lorellei Tiffany, Kelso, Washington and Heidi at home, two sisters, Mrs. Lester (Marcella) Culbertson, Wabasha, Minnesota; and Mrs. Kenneth (Evelyn) Culbertson, Wells; one brother, Kenneth Gaines, Bandera, Texas, and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
