Mrs. Clementine LaFave, 88, a Tupper Lake resident for the past 76 years, died at 1:55 a. m. Saturday at Mercy General Hospital, where she had been a patient in the long-term section since 1972. A Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated at 11 a. m. Monday at St. Alphonsus Church, and interment will be in St. Alphonsus Cemetery in the spring. She was born August 31, 1887 at L'Ange Gardien, Quebec, the daughter of Bruno and Louise Proulx Scanlon. The family moved to Tupper Lake in her childhood, and she was married here to Bazil LaFave. He died here in May, 1932. Surviving are three daughters: Mrs. Raymond (Livina) Ashline, Mrs. Edward (Theresa) Bombard, with whom she had made her home prior to entering the hospital; and Mrs. Robert (Lorraine) Daggett, all of this village;; three sons: Harley LaFave, Tupper Lake; Oliver, of Harrisvllle, and Raymond LaFave, Tupper Lake; surviving also are one brother, Felix Scanlon of Ilion; 43 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
