Adolf J. Lewinski
Adolf J. Lewinski, 86, of 209 S. Walnut, died at 4:55 a.m. today in St. Joseph's Hospital following a brief illness. He retired in 1953 from the Singer Manufacturing Co., where he was a cabinet maker for 35 years. Born on May 18, 1893, in South Bend , Lewinski lived here his whole life. On Sept. 15, 1920 he married Teckla Kaczmarek who died on Jan. 25, 1942. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Henrietta Pajakowski of South Bend; a son, Leonard of Ann Arbor, Mich.; five grandchildren, and three sisters, Sophie, Theresa and Clara Lewinski, all of South Bend.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, with Rev. Stephen J. Sedlock, C.S.C., pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Kaniewski & Sons Funeral Home. Lewinski was a veteran of World War I and a member of P.N.A. 1437 and of Veterans of World War I, Barrack 0829."
