She was born as Teodora Barvydas in Deguciai Village, Lithuania, located 6 km northeast of Luoke in Telsiai County. She was baptized at the Luoke R.C. Church on December 12, 1893. Her parents were Ignotas and Barbora (Kondratas) Barvydas. She immigrated to the U.S. in 1913, and lived in Chicago, Illinois. She married Nikodemas Kulikauskas at the Providence of God Church in Chicago on January 8, 1914. The couple then moved to nearby Cicero, Illinois, where Nikodemas (later Mike) worked at the National Malleable Castings Co. The family then moved to Albion, Michigan in 1918 where Mike worked at the Albion Malleable Iron Company. There were a total of 14 children. The family name evolved to Kulikowski in Albion. There are numerous descendants today.
