Ben P. Holt Dies Suddenly.
Mr. Benjamin P. Holt, 'aged" about 60 years, died at his home on Mt. Airy Avenue Friday evening about seven o'clock from an attack of heart trouble. Mr. Holt had been very ill for several days but his death came as a surprise and shock to his relatives and friends who did not realize that his condition was critical.
Mr. Holt was a son of the late Joseph Holt, who lived at the old home place on the Peacock like a few miles from Paris and winch is now occupied by Mr. J. Harry Holt.
He was for a number of years in the revenue service and later as the local manager of the Adams Express Company, which position he filled for a lengthy period.
He is survived by his wife. Mrs. Mollie Rion Holt, and nine children, Messrs. Harry O. Holt, Edward Holt and Joseph Holt, and Mrs. James Mullins, of this city, Mr. Blanton Holt, of Lexington, Mrs. Edgar Sanford and Miss Nellie Holt, of Louisville, Mr. Benjamin Holt. Jr., of Seattle. Wash., and Mr. William Holt, of San Diego, Cal. The latter being here to a visit his parents.
Mr. Holt is also survived by three brothers and two sisters, Messrs. J. Harry Holt, of Bourbon, Cal. Holt, of Grand Rapids, Mich., Sidney Holt, of Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. H. C. Buckner and Miss Bettie Holt, of this county.
The funeral services will take place Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the family residence on Mt. Airy. Services by Rev. Dr. B. M. Shive, assisted by Elder Carey E. Morgan.
Burial in Paris cemetery. The pall-bearers will be T. Hart, Talbott, Wm. Simms, Wm. Lyle, Nelon Mitchell, Dr. C. G. Daugherty, Wm
