Concordia – The funeral for Charles Sjogren, 84, was at the Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Louis Dale officiating. Burial was at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Sjogren was a retired farmer of the Sibley community. He was born in Oster, Gotland, Sweden, Oct. 16, 1871, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Anders Swensson. He came to America in 1891 and shortly afterward changed his name to Sjogren.
In 1898 he married Pauline Swenson. They lived in the Sibley community until 1947, and then moved to Concordia.
Survivors include the widow; two sons, Elmer and Lawrence, Concordia; five daughters, Mrs. Pryor T. Smith, Weyauwega, Wis.; Mrs. Elmer E. Johnson, Scandia; Mrs. Fred Koester, Ames; Mrs. Minnie Jenson, Phillipsburg, and Mrs. Adolph Pishny, Waterville, and 12 grandchildren.
