Esther M. Johnson, daughter of Charles
and Paulina Swenson Sjogren, was bom
March 3, 1905 north of Concordia in
Sibley Township, and died December 31,
1995 at Cloud County Health Center in
Concordia..
She taught in public school in rural
Cloud County from 1923 until 1936, and
from 1936 until 1942 in Scandia. She
taught in Concordia schools from 1943
until 1950 and for many years later she was
a substitute teacher.
She was united in marriage to Elmer E.
Johnson on October 22, 1950 at Concordia.
Following her marriage, they lived on a
farm west of Norway and returned to
Concordia in 1978,
She was preceded in death by her
parents, her husband Elmer, two sisters and
three brothers.
She is survived by two sisters, Sigrid
Pishny,and Minnie Jensen, one sister-
in-law, Dorothy Sjogren, and one brother-
in-law, Algot Johnson, and several nieces
and nephews.
Burial was in the Ada Lutheran Cemetery.
