Max Evans Max Evans, age 78, passed away very peace-fully on Sunday evening, March 9, 2008, at his home with his wife and family by his side. Max battled bravely many times over the decades of his life with illness, cancer, bypasses, amputation, organ failure, resections and replace-ments and bore the many scars of these battles quietly. A man of this courage is hard to find. He will be missed by all that knew him. Born on May 5, 1929, in Hardin, Missouri, he came to California in 1941 where he made fast and lifelong friends with Jerry Turner. Together they rode Harleys, raced hardtops at Selma, Clovis and Kearney Bowl and lived the life movies were made of. In 1953 he met Ruth, the love of his life, and began a romance that yet even more movies are made of. Max was strong, tender, courageous and mild-mannered. He taught us chivalry, honor, respect and humility and gave us pride to the degree of Knighthood. He will forever be in our hearts for this is a love that never dies. He is survived by Ruth, his wife of 54 years; his sons Merle, Ron and Dan; his daughter Vikki; and his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who all adored him. He is also survived by his brothers Rod, Dow, Don and Joe; and his sisters, Ruth Smart and Joyce Rice.

A Funeral Service will be held at Peoples Church on Thursday, March 13, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. A Graveside Service will follow at Belmont Memorial Gardens.
