Phillip Hendrix Acker was born January 30, 1885 in Caseyville, Union County, Kentucky to Phillip Acker of Germany and Mary Catherine Oberhausen. He was 6 ft tall, had dark eyes, dark hair and dark complexion. He married Gertrude Ann Behrens April 20, 1915. They had at least three children. Phillip was a farmer in Dimmit, Castro County, Texas. He joined the LOYALTY RANGERS July 27, 1918 through February 1919. Loyalty Rangers worked under cover and most people never knew what they were doing. They were a sort of an FBI, working under the Hobby Loyalty Act of 1918. He died November 4, 1969 in Castro County, Texas and was buried in the Holy Family Cemetery in Nazareth, Castro County, Texas.
