Joseph Benyshek was born January 24, 1860 in Manitowoc, Wisc., and passed away at the home of his son, Frank Benyshek, on November 21, 1939, at the age of 79 years, 9 months and 27 days.
At the age of 12 he came to Kansas with his parents, locating in Republic county near Cuba. In the year of 1882 he was united in marriage to Anna Havel and to their union two children were born, Julia Baxa of Munden and Frank Benyshek of Cuba.
He leaves to mourn his loss one daughter, Julia Baxa; one son, Frank Benyshek; two sisters, Mrs. Emilie Barton and Mrs. Katerine Havel; four brothers, Anton Benyshek of Clay Center, Frank James and Steve Benyshek, sr., of Cuba; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the Frank Benyshek home conducted by Joseph Krhounek, sr. Interment was made at the Kopsa cemetery.
