Anton Benyshek, son of Frank and Anna Benyshek, was born in Manitowoc, Wis., and passed away after a long illness at Morganville Nursing Home, Morganville, Kan., September 25, 1956 at the age of 87 years, 3 months and 24 days.

When but a lad of four years of age, with his parents he came to Kansas. The family homesteaded on a farm 2 miles east and 3/4 mile south of Cuba. Here Anton spent his school days, attending at the Old Cuba School. Being one of the pioneer children, he knew well the joys and hardships and privations endured by the early settlers. On April 4, 1893 he was united in marriage to Anna Denk. This union was blest with nine children, three sons and six daughter. In February of the year 1922 he moved to Robertsdale, Ala., where he continued to live for nine years, He then came back to Kansas, establishing his home at Clay Center, where he lived until he passed away.

Preceding him in death are his parents, who passed away in the early years, and his wife who passed away November 13, 1952, one daughter, Mrs. Frances Havel in 1920, and one grandson, Dallas Junek who passed away January 24, 1955, also four brothers, Joseph, Frank, James and Stephen Benyshek and three sisters, Mrs. Rose Kalivoda, Mrs. Thressa Kasl and Mrs. Kathrine Havel, also four half-sisters, Josephine Benyshek, Mrs. Berbere Benesh and Mrs. Mary Lokajicek and Mrs. Anna Strouf.

Surviving and mourning his departure are three sons, Albert and Alois of Clay Center and Milo Benyshek of Agenda, Kan., and five daughter, Mrs. Mary Junek of Cuba, Mrs. Emily Turek of Cicero, Ill., and Mrs. Helen Stern, Mrs. Irene Nordstrom and Miss Velma Benyshek, all of Berwyn, Ill., also 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Emily Barton of Cuba, many other relatives and a host of friends.
