Frank Benyshek was born in Manitowoc county, Gipson township, Wisc., on April 24, 1862 and departed this life in Cuba on March 14, 1941 at the age of 78 years, 10 months and 20 days.
In the year of 1873 he came with his parents to Republic county. On September 22, 1883 he was united in marriage to Barbara Havel, who preceded him in death on March 16, 1926. To this union seven children were born.
After their marriage they lived on a farm east of Cuba until 1895 when they moved to Missouri living there three years and then returning to Cuba where he lived the rest of his life.
He leaves to mourn his departure two daughter and two sons, Mary Veroda of Cuba, Stella Lahodny of Montrose, Colo., Henry of Belleville and Alfred of Cuba; three brothers and two sisters, Anton of Clay Center, Vaclav and Stephen, Mrs. Katherine Havel and Mrs. Emma Barton of Cuba; also 18 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
One son and two daughters, Adolf, Rosa Kopsa and Anna Celoud, preceded him in death.
Funeral services were conducted from the Methodist church in Cuba by the Rev. P.O. Davis of Belleville and interment was made in the Kopsa cemetery east and south of Cuba.
