JOHN M. (JACK) MCKERNAN, 80, formerly of Hanover Township, died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2005, at St. Therese Residence, Wilkes-Barre.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Marjorie Franchi; sister, Mary Carey; brother Richard; infant brother Joseph. Surviving are his children, Kathleen T. (Harry) Miller; Father Leo J. McKernan; Alice C. (Reggie) Jones; Mary E. (Vincent) Appello; Mark R. (Christa) McKernan; Michael J. McKernan; nine grandchildren; a great-grandson.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday from the Leo P. Lehman Funeral Home, 689 Hazle Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Leo's Church, Ashley. The Rev. Leo J. McKernan, his son, will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
