Delilah Wright - My great grand aunt.
Birth 3 Oct 1782 in Rowan County, North Carolina
Death 15 Jul 1869 in Bristol, Greene County, Iowa

Death document shows Delilah died of Typhoid Fever. According to family history, Delilah Wright Allen is buried in FAIR OAK CEMETERY, BRISTOL TOWNSHIP, GREENE COUNTY, IOWA. It does not reference that James Allen was buried in the same cemetery.

Delilah was a daughter of Richard Wright, Jr. and Nancy Morgan [first wife]. Delilah also had a twin brother, Amos, born 3 Oct 1782, in Rowan County, North Carolina. In addition she also had 9 other siblings and 9 half-siblings [from father's 2nd marriage to Caroline Kittrell.]

About 1805, Delilah married James Allen, also of Rowan County.

JAMES ALLEN was born 1785 in Rowan Co, NC, and died 06 Jan 1838 in Putnam Co, IN.

Notes for JAMES ALLEN:
In probate document of James Allen, a William D. Allen is among the individuals who purchased items at one probate sale (several steers). Could this be a brother of James, or cousin? Also mentioned are an Elijah Wright and Amos Wright (Delila's brothers), who is listed as the guardian of Mary Ann and Elizabeth Allen after James' death.

AFTER THE DEATH OF JAMES, DELILAH MOVED WEST WITH THE FAMILY OF HER YOUNGEST DAUGHTER, ELIZABETH, WHO HAD MARRIED WILLIAM HURLEY. ELIZABETH LATER REMARRIED TO LOUIS MORLAN. [It appears that Delilah later moved back to Iowa [date unknown], as her place of burial is at Fair Oak.]
