Son of Richard Wright, Jr. and Caroline Kittrell of Davidson County. While not permitted to explain his death, it was after the 1860 census, likely in Houston, Texas - he would have been 47+ - perhaps still old enough to serve in the Civil War? Speculation only.

Nelson Wright is found to be in the 1820 and 1830 censuses with his parents and siblings - as documented by the '2' indicating his twin, Silas.

Nelson's marriage to Margaret Varner is documented as:
North Carolina, Marriage Bonds, 1741-1868
Married Margaret Varner 30 Jan 1840.

On 18 Feb 1848, Nelson was still in Davidson County, NC as he was a participant in the selling of the family property in conjunction with his brothers - twin, Silas, Burgess, Miles and a sister, Mary Ann Wright Varker. The property division sale indicates that the sole purchaser was another brother, Micajah Wright. The occasion for the sale was their mother, Caroline Kittrell, had passed away some time prior to the above date. The father, Richard Wright, Jr. has passed away some years beforehand.

Little is known of Nelson or where he went after the property was sold. He and family are not found in the 1850 census anywhere. A last sighting was in 1860 Census in Houston, Texas.

Nelson and Margaret had the following children by 1860 as cited in the 1860 Census in Houston, TX:
