Silas Wright [along with his twin brother, Nelson both b. 30 Aug 1813] was the son of Richard Wright, Jr.[1757-1833] and Caroline Kittrell [1788–1848]. Documentation on the twin’s birth is found in the Bible record prepared by Clayton Wright's granddaughter.

Silas’s siblings are known as following:
1. Elizabeth Wright 1806 – 1820
2. Clayton Wright 1808 – 1885
3. Ruth Wright 1810 – 1912
4. Celia Wright 1811 – 1888
5. Nelson Wright 1813 – 1860 - twin
6. Unknown Daughter Wright 1815 – 1819
7. Burgess Wright 1817 – 1899
8. MARY ANN WRIGHT 1818 – 1890
9. Micajah Wright 1820 – 1910
10. Unknown Daughter Wright 1822 – 1830
11. Miles Walton Wright 1826 – 1879

Historical evidence for Silas and family:
1820 – not named
1830 – not named
1840 – At which time he was married to Susan Gallimore, sister to his brother-in-law, Jesse Gallimore [husband to Ruth – sister to Silas . complicated family]
1850 – with wife, Susan; children - Joseph Wright, age 7; Margaret, age 3; and Alexander J Wright, just born.
1860 - With wife Susan; children – Joseph, 17; Margaret, 13;, Alexander, 12; and Ruth Ellen, age 7

Military Service – Civil War

1870 – with wife, Susan; children– Margaret, 22; Alexander, 21; and Ruth, 17. [According to Mrs. Osee Johnson Knouf's book - Wright Family History, Volume II, Alex Wright died unmarried. No mention of any date, but definitely after the 1870 census, in which he last appeared.
1880 – with wife, Susan; daughter Margaret, 25 and her son, Thomas Harrison 7

Based on the estate document [Silas left no will], his estate was probated 12 May 1892, so death would likely a few days before. No specific day found.

According to Osee Johnson Knouf in her research and book "Wright Family History, Vol II, Silas Wright is supposed to be buried at Tom's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, along with Susan Gallimore Wright, his wife. A review of cemetery books for Davidson County, NC for Tom's Creek - Silas and Susan Wright do not appear there. It is unsure if this is the specific Tom's Creek Church Cemetery where Silas and Susan were buried; however, in the interest of their daughter being buried there as well, I'm taking the liberty of rejoining the family here.

On 12 May, 1892 Silas Wright's estate names heirs of estate as Joe (Joseph) Wright; Peggy (Margaret) Harrison; Alex (Alexander) Wright, and Ruth Ellen [Wright] Workman. Administrator of estate is GW Hughes.
