He was born July 4, 1913, in Muskogee, Okla., to John and Lena (Blatti) Burt. He was raised and educated in Port Orchard, graduating from South Kitsap High School in 1931.
He married Melba McCleary on Oct. 14, 1934, in Port Orchard. She preceded him in death on June 5, 1999. The couple had been married 64 years.
Mr. Burt worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard from 1940 until his retirement in the late 1960s as a general foreman in the outside machine shop.
Survivors include two daughters, Sally Forcier of Poulsbo and Patricia Burt of Silverdale; seven grandchildren, Louis Lashlee, Jon Forcier, Paul Forcier, Mathieu Forcier, Jody Lashlee, Melody Lashlee and Victoria Lashlee; and seven great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lewis Funeral Chapel. Private interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
