Phamy Mullikin Amin, 86, of 1004 E. First St., formerly of Milton, Ky., died Thursday, March 9, 2006, at The Waters of Clifty Falls.

She was born March 21, 1919, in Berea, Ky., the daughter of Rollie and Addie Mae Sims McCollum. She taught at Milton Elementary School for 37 years; was founder and director of the Head Start program in Trimble County; and was inducted into the Forest Hall of Fame at Milton Elementary. She also drove a school bus during her teaching years. She was a member of the Kentucky Retired Teachers Association and the Trimble County Retired Teachers Association, was a Kentucky Colonel and was a member of St. Michael's Greek Orthodox Church in Louisville, Ky.

She is survived by three sisters, Nina Abbott of Marion, Joy Pingleton of Berea, Ky., and Sandra McCollum of Farmington, Minn.; two brothers, Alonzo McCollum of Mount Vernon, Ky., and James Frank McCollum of Louden, Tenn.; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Amiel P. Amin Sr., in 2002; one daughter, Carol Jean Pinkerton; one son, Marvin Dale Mullikin; three sisters, Mildred Banks, Eleanor Bennett and Janie Durham; and three brothers, George, Ellis and Edward McCollum.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Wood-Oakley Funeral Home in Milton, Ky. Burial will be in Moffett Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until the service.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Milton Elementary School PTO.
