Hays -- August C. Stecklein, 68, Hays, died Thursday, Nov. 19, 1992, at Hays Medical Center. Mr. Stecklein was born Sept. 13, 1924, at Munjor and had been a Hays resident since 1980, moving from Munjor.

He was a farmer and a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays.

Survivors include his wife, Edna of {he home; two sons, David of Wichita and Danny of Kansas City, Kan.; a daughter, Sherri Dawson of Wichita; two brothers, Jacob and Alois, both of Hays; two sisters, Katherine Wasinger and Margaret Billinger, both of Hays; and four grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays, the Rev. Damian Richards officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Hays. A vigil will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday followed by a Victoria Daughters of Isabella rosary at 8 p.m. at the Cline's Mortuary of Hays.

Memorials may be made to the church. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and after 8 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, 22nd and Canterbury, Hays,67601.
