She was a native of Gainesville, GA, and the daughter of General Gates and Eliza Jane Canne McMahan.

BURIAL: Armstrong Cemetery.

She was a Retired Spinner from Textiles Incorporated.

Gertrude was a Charter Member of Bethany Baptist Church.

PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: Parents, husband, Charlie Richard Phillips, 5 sons, Grady, Benny, Johnny, Gene & R.B. Phillips; 2 grandsons, Larkin & Alvin Phillips.
