Ruth (Valjean) Varner, 59, of Kiski Twp., died Friday (Dec. 24, 1982) in he Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights.
She was bon June 4, 1923, in Parks Twp. to Lawrence and Reatha Cook Rupert of Vandergrift.
She was a lifelong resident of the Vandergrift area.
She is survived by her husband, Willard; two sons, Dale of Vandergrift and William of Putnam, Conn.; a daughter, Mrs. William (Shirley) Sharon of Parks; three grandchildren; her mother, Reatha Scott of Vandergrift; a brother, Dale E. of Vandergrift; four sisters, Mrs. Vic (Eloise) McManus and Mrs. Warren (Millicent) Scott Vandergrift, Mrs. Clifford (Maxine) White of Parks and Mrs. Gary (Carolyn) Fitzgerald of New Bedford.
Besides her father, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Westover and a brother, Harold Rupert.
Friends may call today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Dunmire-Kerr Funeral Hom, 244 Franklin Ave., Vandergrift, where services will be conducted tomorrow at 1 p.m. with the Rev. David Bailey of the Franklin Ave. church of God, Vandergrift, assisted by the Rev. Lloyd Bier, officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, Apollo.
