Private Services Are Slated For Stabbing Victim
Services for Helen I. Blatt, 46, of 21 N. 8th St., who succumbed yesterday to knife wounds received Friday, will be held at the convenience of the family, the Rev. James Miller officiating.
Burial will be made in Epler's United Church of Christ Cemetery. The Mertz Funeral Home, Laureldale, is in charge of arrangments.
Joseph Brill, 75, of the same address, who was stabbed in the same attack, was still listed in extremely critical condition in St. Joseph's Hospital today.
Still Searching
Police are still searching for Domingo (Ringo) Cintron, 27, of 710 Walnut St., who they say stabbed Brill, his landlord, and Miss Blatt. The stabbing in the N. 8th street home of Brill, where Miss Blatt was a roomer, occurred during a discussion of rent payments.
Last night, police found a blood stained bread knife and a paring knife hidden under a grating of a cellar window at 7th and Franklin streets. They are being checked to determine if they were involved in the stabbing.
Cintron fled Lancaster following a Sept. 5 brawl in a taproom there in which he threw bottles and chairs. Police said he is wanted on three counts of aggravated assault and battery and disorderly conduct.
