Was Born in Miller County December 28, 1851; Survived by Six Children and Large Number of Grandchildren; Funeral Services Held Tuesday at Eugene and Burial There. -
Brumley H. Crane, familiarly known around Miller County relatives and friends as "Buck" Crane, passed away Sunday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. M. C. Spenser, 1000 E Capitol Avenue, Jefferson City, following a prolonged illness for pneumonia and other complications incident too old age. Mr. Crane was born in Miller County De­cember 18,1851, son of a pioneer family of this county. When a young man he was united in marriage to Miss Sarah Pierce, who preceded him in death a number of years. He spent most of his life in this county engaging in farming and operating well drills, during which time he gained a wide acquaintance throughout the county. He is survived by six children as follows; L. D. and W. W. Crane of Brazito, Mrs. Ed Spalding of Etterville, Mrs. Fred Stone of near Tuscumbia, Mrs. W. E. Spencer of Eugene and Mrs. W. W. Acton of St. Louis. He was a brother of the late J. M. Crane and an uncle of former collector L. E. Crane and Mrs. Elmer Slone of Tuscumbia. The body was conveyed to Eugene by Thorpe J. Gordan, funeral director of Jefferson City. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday by Rev. Bennie Pifains, pastor of the Eugene Christian Church and burial was in Eugene Cemetery.
