daughter of Daniel and Margaret (Jones) Pierce

The Eugene Advertiser, February 8, 1917

Mrs. Sarah Crane, who lived at Meta, departed this life Tuesday, January 29, at 60 years and 3 months old. She had not been well for a few days, but was able to be up and was putting on her shoes intending to help prepare breakfast when she fell over against the stove unconscious. She was picked up and laid upon the bed an a doctor was called, but she only lived a short time.

She was a member of the Christian Science Association, of Kansas City, for some time until about five months ago when she united with the Christian Science Association of Boston being very much devoted to the faith.

Mrs. Crane leaves to mourn their loss a husband, two sons and five daughters. She also leaves three sisters and three brothers.

May God help her husband and dear children to endure until light shall dawn in a better land. God help us all to help others who on every hand are stretching out their hands to us in time of great need. Is thy burden hard and heavy? Do thy steps drag wearily? Help to lift thy brothers burden and it will bear bot it and thee.

Funeral services were conducted in the Christian church of Eugene by Rev. J. H. Browning after which the body was laid to rest in the Eugene cemetery.
