George Carl Alzheimer was born on May 17, 1905, in Frazee, Minnesota, the child of Edmund Joseph Alzheimer (1874-1943) and Elizabeth Mary Henn (1876-1971). George had ten siblings.

George’s parents moved the family from Minnesota to Montana when George was about 5 years old, where George would spend most of the rest of his life.

In 1939, George married Mabel Lucile Meyers (1907-2008) and they had one son together: Charles Richard (Dick) Alzheimer (1935-2015). In 1964, George married his second wife Alice Celia Kalanick (1917-2000).

George died on April 30, 1992, in Highwood, Montana, at the age of 86.
