DonAne married the love of her life, Hugh Emerson Bellmon September 5, 1944 and they raised 11 children, 8 girls and 3 boys. While Hugh worked in the oilfields and farmed, DonAne was the backbone of their family, teaching their children the value of education, independence, and hard work. She instilled in them the "family first" value that was so important to her generation.
She was a great cook. No one makes chicken and noodles, turkey and dressing, pan fried steak and gravy, baked eggs and biscuits, and rice pudding like she could. She loved to garden with a passion, tomatoes, green beans, cucumbers and she canned her home-grown goods all summer. Oh, those pickles were to die for! Mom loved being part of the community and was a big part of the CWF and American Legion Auxiliary and Home Demonstration.
Hugh and DonAne raised their family in the First Christian church of Billings, moving to Stillwater in their later years where they were active at the Sunnybrook Christian Church. Hugh died in 2018 after 73 years of marriage. DonAne was also preceded in death by a son (Mike), 2 granddaughters (Melissa and Angela), 1 grandson (Jake), her parents, 4 sisters, and 2 brothers.
She is survived by her children, Marilyn (JC) Thomas, Debby (Bill) Fuller, Donna (Jay) Thomas, Vicki (Steve) Goforth, Janet (Terry) Clyden, Kathy (Fred)Robinson, Mary (Gary) Pugh, Denise Barrett, Kyle (Donna) Bellmon, and Jim (Debbie) Bellmon, daughter in law, Peggy Bellmon, 3 brothers - Wilfred (Vicki) Waggoner, Richard (Lois) Waggoner, and James Waggoner. Also 16 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 1 great great granddaughter.
Services are entrusted to Dugger Funeral Home in Billings, Oklahoma. A Funeral Service will held at Billings Christian Church, Billings, OK at 11:00 am, Friday, January 4, 2019 with interment to follow at the Billings Union Cemetery.
The family ask that donations be made in their Mother's memory, to Karman Legacy Hospice / Stillwater Medical Center.
