George Ewing, Sr., was electrocuted sometime Sunday afternoon as the antenna he was attempting to attach to the mast of his shrimp boat, Miss Carolyn, hit a power line at Cypremont, according to Sheriff Chester C. Baudoin. Baudoin said the man was found floating between the boat and the bank about 6:15 by a son. Deputies, Johnny Graffeo, and Roy Millet, Ward Two Constable C. E. Tabb, and Coroner Dr. G. P. Musso. investigated. Baudoin said the investigators learned Ewing was trying to put the antenna on a boat, and later discovered the antenna had come in contact with a power line. The body was taken to Ibert's Funeral home, and Dr. Musso reported finding several burned spots on the body. He termed cause of death electrocution, Baudoin said.

The funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday from Ibert's Funeral Home. Religious services will be at the United Pentecostal Church on Cypremort Road, with burial in the church cemetery.
