Mrs. Carton was born Sept 13, 1916 in Sheboygan, to the late John and Sophia Pfister. She graduated from Sheboygan High School in 1934.
On Aug. 6, 1943, she married Raymond E. Carson at Maywood, III. and in 1953, the couple moved to Sheboygan. Mr. Carson preceded her in death March 29, 1995. Mrs. Carson was self-employed as a reflexologist and massage therapist.
Sonya was a member of First Presbyterian Church, having served as a church secretary, church deacon and a current member of the Elizabeth Circle. She is survived by one sister, Mrs, Sally (Edwin) Meyer, Sheboygan; two sisters-in-law, Genna Mae Pfister, Texas; and Rita Casper, Cleveland, Wis. and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, at 3 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Dennis L Cobb, pastor, will officiate. Entombment will be at Garden Terrace Mausoleum, Friends may call at Ballhom Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday and at the church, on Saturday, from 2 p.m. to the time of services. A memorial fund has been established, in Mrs. Carson's name, for First Presbyterian Church.
